LED grow lights

today we are going to be talking about some of the different types of grow lights out there and more specifically led grow lights

there are many different kinds of grow lights out there and we are going to be talking about some of the most common ones that are around

Probably the most common one that you will come across besides LEDs is HID grow light or high intensity discharge grow light. these type of grow lights usually come in to types of categories one being metal halide grow lights that put out a blue spectrum light that helps out stem and root growth. and the second category is the HPS or high powered sodium grow light that puts out a orange red spectrum light that mimics the natural process of the sun when it is harvest time. these types of grow lights have long been the standard when it comes to the best grow lights to use to get the best results. this is all true until the led grow light came around. 

incandescent grow lights- these types of grow lights are usually found where only a single plant is being lit up or someone who is on a very strict budget. these lights can be used as grow lights but will not give off nearly enough light to lit up a small indoor garden

fluorescent grow lights- these are the second most popular grow lights begin HID grow lights as they do a fairly good job but are once again not as effective as the LED grow lights.

often times people will ask what is so special about led grow lights, and often times i tell them. the first and biggest advantage to using leds is that they draw a whole lot and i mean a whole lot less power than other types of grow lights. the second thing that they do is they only put off the light needed by the plant to grow not the rest of the light spectrum like other grow lights do. the third reason that they are so good is that they put off very little heat when powered up, this equates to being able to put the lights closer to the plants which means faster and stronger growing plants without being burned by the light. for more ways that leds are better go to top led grow lights.
